Grading & Site Preparation
Grading prepares surfaces to the required level, slope and finish. The best tool depends on whether the job is moving bulk material, correcting high spots, finishing slopes or preparing a consistent layer.
Choose the working method
- Finished surface
- Define tolerance, fall and texture before choosing width or tilt functions.
- Material condition
- Screening, loosening and grading solve different problems
- Working geometry
- Tilt and rotation can improve access but add mass and offset to the carrier.
Job planning sequence
- Establish levels, drainage falls and the available material.
- Prepare unsuitable or oversized material before fine grading.
- Work in controlled layers and check the finish against the project requirements.
Selection mistakes to avoid
- Using a very wide tool on hard material can reduce control and penetration.
- Trying to grade deeply uneven material in one finishing pass can leave inconsistent results.
Define the specification
Describe the material, required result, access, cycle frequency and working radius before comparing tools. Record the exact carrier and mounting interface, attachment mass, available auxiliary hydraulics and required control functions.
Agree how the complete arrangement will be installed, maintained and transported. Compare normal production work and the most demanding expected conditions rather than relying on a single catalogue capacity.
