Carrier selection guide
Telehandler Attachments
Telehandlers place loads using a telescopic boom. Forks, buckets, clamps and other attachments change the load geometry, so the applicable load chart must match the exact machine, fitted tool and operating configuration.
Attachment options
- Pallet forks
- Use the appropriate frame, tine spacing and load centre for the goods.
- Buckets
- Include material density and bucket mass in the actual load.
- Clamps and grabs
- Confirm the product can be retained securely without damage.
- Specialist lifting tools
- Use only documented combinations with the required controls and load information.
Check the complete carrier and tool combination
- Boom extension
- A load that is permitted near the machine may not be permitted farther out or higher up.
- Attachment-specific chart
- Do not substitute a generic fork chart for another tool.
- Ground support
- Surface condition, levelling and stabiliser configuration determine whether the documented setup is achieved.
Plan the work
- Identify the exact attachment and corresponding chart before loading.
- Determine load mass and centre of gravity, including packaging.
- Plan placement and travel positions and maintain visibility of the load and destination.
Common selection mistakes
- Applying maximum headline capacity throughout the boom range overstates usable capacity.
- Assuming a similar pickup means approved compatibility omits attachment-specific chart and control requirements.
Before ordering
Give the supplier the exact machine model, coupler, fitted auxiliary circuit and intended working method. Include the mass and offset of any additional coupler, rotator or adapter. Ask for the applicable installation instructions and model-specific operating limits.
Check replacement wear parts, maintenance access and the transport arrangement alongside purchase cost. The selected tool should suit the normal job as well as the most demanding expected material.
