Attachment selection guide

Sweeper & Broom Attachments

Sweeper and broom attachments remove loose debris from hard surfaces. An angle broom moves material across or to the side of the route, while a pickup sweeper collects it for disposal. Choose the operating principle before comparing working width or carrier size.

Angle broom or pickup sweeper?

An angle broom suits work where displaced material can be left in an agreed area or collected separately. The discharge direction matters near parked vehicles, entrances and other people. Check the available working width with the broom angled.

A pickup sweeper combines brushing with a collection bucket or hopper. Collection capacity, emptying access and the intended disposal route affect the working cycle. A wider tool does not automatically produce a faster route when frequent emptying or tight turns interrupt the work.

Match the surface and material

Surface condition
Compare the brush arrangement with the actual pavement, surface irregularities and required finish.
Debris
Describe whether the route normally contains dust, gravel, mud or mixed debris. Check the tool’s permitted material and working method.
Brush and wear parts
Confirm bristle material, replacement sections and the adjustment method for the exact model.
Dust management
Establish the dust-control requirements for the site and any water system or other equipment needed for the chosen method.

Carrier compatibility

Identify the exact loader or utility carrier, pickup interface and fitted auxiliary circuit. Match flow, pressure, electrical functions and any additional connections to the tool instructions. Include attachment mass, collected material and the emptying position when checking the carrier’s working limits.

Check visibility of the working edge, route width, turning space and transport position. Carrier families can have different mounting and hydraulic options, so a general machine-type label is not a compatibility approval.

Before each route

Inspect the working area and plan where displaced or collected debris will go. Set up and inspect the attachment according to its instructions. Plan the sequence around emptying locations and access restrictions, then assess whether the required surface result is being achieved.

Maintenance

Check bristle wear, guards, mounting engagement, hydraulic connections and collection components. Remove lodged material using the documented isolation and maintenance procedure. Inspect the cutting or scraping edge where one is fitted and replace wear parts before surrounding components are damaged.
